Quick Update

October 23, 2023

General Rambling

Before I launch into my next blog on hyper-growth, I thought a quick recap of where I've been this past year is warranted. Yes, it's hard to believe that it's been more than a year since my last blog post.

I am doing well and have not been abducted by aliens. Nor has Shari buried me out in the back 40. Life is great.

Time simply got away from me as I lived life.

Here's some of what has happened in the past year.

Grandparents x 2

My wife Shari and I became grandparents, not once, but twice. Our daughter had a boy, Oliver, on May 29, 2022. On June 20, 2023, our son had a girl, Linnea. So, we've been a little busy to say the least. I've heard that having grandkids is different than it was with your own kids and I have to say, it is true. What a great time we've had with both of them and in Oliver's case, hopping him up on sugar and sending him home. (Linnea will be next). Grandkids are freakin' awesome!

What will 2024 bring? Stay tuned for that...

New Company

I joined a new company, Bloomerang, where I serve as their Senior Director of Product Management. I oversee Integrations, their volunteer product, Product Operations, Tech Documentation, Product Analytics, PLG, and third-party product partnerships. A lot of balls to juggle, but I absolutely love it. I'd always wanted to work for a non-profit but very few are large enough to have a Product team. At Bloomerang, I can help over 15,000+ (currently) nonprofits execute on their mission to make the world a better place. It's a fantastic company, a tremendous team, and a mission that I 110% support. When the opportunity opened, I jumped at the chance to be part of them and never looked back.

Getting Fit

To keep up with the grandkids (and Shari), I've started a journey of fitness. Post Covid, I began to get in shape and shake the Covid 20 (lbs that is). I've managed to keep that off and have really dove into weight training. Not only is it great for the body, but it's also great for the mind. I've taken over 1/2 of our garage for a home gym and I try to hit that at least 5 times per week. I am finding it somewhat difficult to strike the balance between eating enough to gain muscle but not gain fat. (getting old sucks.)

In Closing

I appreciate all of the wellness checks (messages) that people have sent me. Marriage is alive and kicking. I plan to get back on the blogging bandwagon and will be rolling out a new post every few weeks, so watch for those.

If you haven't already done so, be sure to subscribe to my blog so that you're notified when I release new content. (I don't provide your information to any other party. Promise.).

Wishing all of you the very best.
